Poole has some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK, winning more European ‘Blue Flags’ than any other British resort. Poole’s Harbour is known as the venue for many world-class water sport activities. In addition to these accolades, Poole also has an unprecedented reputation for top class attractions and dining.











Poole Old Town is an exciting mix of smugglers’ passageways and elegant houses built by rich merchants in the 17th and 18th centuries, backing onto the Quay side with its mix of fishing boats,crab liners and luxury powerboats. Tour this area using the ‘Poole Cockle Trail Guide,’ whilst the kids will be kept amused with our ‘Family Fun’ & ‘Treasure Hunt’ leaflets, all available from Poole Welcome Centre on Poole Quay.

The Quay provides a great base just to sit back in one of the waterfront cafés and restaurants, taking in the views and watching visiting yachts and the luxurious, globally renowned Sunseeker Motor Yachts being built just across the water.
Enjoy the views on one of the many harbour cruises available or set sail for the National Trust's Brownsea Island with its peaceful wooded walks and wide variety of wildlife. Whilst on the Quay a visit to the world famous Poole Pottery shop is a must, and to learn more about Poole’s fascinating history, visit Poole Museum, which is now fully open after major redevelopment work.

The excitement doesn’t stop when the sun goes down…. Poole host’s events all summer long with a fantastic programme of weekday action for the whole family to enjoy. The centrepiece of Poole’s “Summertime in the South” programme with Wave 105FM is Summer Breeze offering 3 months of Thursday evening fun with live music,street entertainment, family fun and a fantastic fireworks finale.

Other events in the calendar include Coles Miller Dream Machines -The UK’s biggest and best weekly bike meet and a professional street theatre production bringing Poole’s fascinating history to life. Fans of four-wheeled style will not want to miss Rockley Park Quay for my Car when a different marque of car is displayed on Poole Quay every Friday night.

Other must visit attractions in Poole include Tower Park - The South Coast’s premier entertainment destination and Compton Acres – The South’s finest privately owned gardens. You can also take a day trip to Jersey or Guernsey from Poole. Other places of interest in the surrounding area, easily accessible from Poole are the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, New Forest National Park & Monkey World.
